Dr. Cara Powers, LPC

Founder & Clinical Director


Cara is the Founder and Clinical Director of Shoreline Wellness Center. She specializes in the treatment of adult, child, and adolescent anxiety and phobia disorders (including the treatment of Selective Mutism), blended family and step-family issues and divorce, as well as adolescent developmental issues and is now trained and becoming certified in EMDR. Her vision for creating Shoreline Wellness Center, was to bring people together suffering from various mental illnesses and to help them heal in a safe, nurturing, and holistic environment, one in which focuses on helping people achieve personal wellness.


Cara utilizes an eclectic approach to her therapeutic treatment but primarily utilizes person centered treatment modalities as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In 2017, Cara received her Ph.D. in Health Psychology. Cara's dissertation research was on the effective treatment of Selective Mutism.


Cara is actively involved in the CT Counseling Association (CCA) and served as a Chair for the Public Relations Committee in 2007-2009, where she received the 2008 President’s Award for her Outstanding Commitment to the Counseling Profession.


Cara also supervises Graduate Counseling students and is a member of (CACES) CT Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. Cara is also a member of the Selective Mutism Professionals Group and the EMDRIA Professionals group. 

Robert Powers

Co-Founder & Property Manager


Robert Powers has a passion for working with children and adolescents. He is compassionate and strives to ensure that all clients at Shoreline receive exceptional services. 

Nicole Wetmore, LPC

Assistant Clinical Director


Nicole is our Assistant Clinical Director. Her role at Shoreline includes ensuring that all operations of our services are flowing smoothly. She coordinates with our management staff to assist in keeping Shoreline's team at our best! Her contributions to Shoreline are greatly appreciated and crucial to the work we do here. Nicole’s background includes working with individuals with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders including, but not limited to Anxiety, Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Mood Disorders. 

Jessica Mikita, LPC

Executive Director & Credentialing Coordinator


As our Clinical Coordinator, Jessica maintains the functions of Shoreline's clinical services and staff. Jessica's contribution to our team is essential in the way that our clients are served and the success of Shoreline. Her dedication to Shoreline is admired and appreciated! Aside from working in the field, Jessica enjoys attending workshops, seminars, and community events supporting an array of mental health causes. Jessica believes that mental health awareness is important because it contributes to a person's daily living and functioning.

Kaitlyn Bruneau

Office Manager & Billing Specialist


Kaitlyn has been a part of Shoreline's collaborative team for 3 years. Kaitlyn brings a positive and bright attitude to Shoreline, ensuring the office runs smoothly for both our staff and our clients. Kaitlyn's dedication to Shoreline is valued by both staff and clients. Kaitlyn is attending the University of Bridgeport and is currently a graduate intern with aspirations of one day becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Kiera Weinstein

Medical Office Manager


Kiera is our Medical Office Manager at Shoreline, engaging frequently with our medical staff and clients who are receiving medication management services. She brings a bright and positive attitude to Shoreline's team that clients are drawn to, furthering the warm atmosphere at Shoreline. 

Danielle Cummings

Administrative & Medical Office Assistant


Danielle is our Administrative Assistant at Shoreline with her role including scheduling, corresponding with medical staff and clients, and managing day-to-day administrative tasks within the office. Danielle ensures to provide excellent patient services with her inviting smile and warm personality. Danielle currently attends Southern Connecticut State University with ambitions to receive her master's degree in counseling and become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).


Hannah Milano

Administrative Assistant


Hannah is an Administrative Assistant providing excellent customer service and client care including scheduling, correspondance with medical staff, clinicians, and clients, as well as managing day-to-day administrative tasks within the office. Hannah is also a Master Level Clinician with aspirations to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
